Abstract
The Habitat Mapping Camera System developed by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute added a stereo camera setup to their most recent iteration of the system. The stereo cameras introduces a number of challenges, including automatic rectification without calibration, automatic disparity range finding, and choosing a stereo algorithm to best create disparity maps from benthic images. An algorithm to solve these problems as they relate to HabCam is discussed, and experimental results shown from three stereo algorithms.
