    Abstract
    This thesis outlines the details of out-of-order executions and how they can be measured and manipulated to create a covert channel. This channel is then analyzed and methods and techniques for making this a viable channel through increased reliability and capacity are detailed.; The purpose of this thesis is to study the behavior of out-of-order executions, how we can influence them to create a channel, and how we can make this channel suitable for use in environments populated by virtual machines, such as the cloud or a private hypervisor.;
