Abstract
C1 and C143 in Hint domain are essential for Hh autoprocessing. Trivalent arsenic can bind to thiol groups and can potentially be an inhibitor of Hh autoprocessing. In collaboration with Brian Callahan’s group at Binhampton University, phenylarsine oxide (PAO) has been identified as an inhibitor of Hh autoprocessing and its binding to Hint was characterized by NMR.
