Abstract
The ELF and VLF noise models are applied to linear detection problems. The three basic digital modulation techniques are considered in both coherent and noncoherent modes: PSK, ASK and FSK. Error probabilities for antipodal and orthogonal signaling schemes have been calculated and the parametric dependence of the modem performance upon the noise model parameters are discussed.
