dc.description.abstractThe application of metabolic engineering to the production of glycans and glycoconjugates is the subject of this of Emerging Topics in Life Science. The lack of availability of these complex carbohydrate or saccharide structures has severely limited the development of the field of glycobiology. This issue contains eight articles from respected scientists in the field that cover this new and emerging field.
