Abstract
Following this analysis, an investigation of continuous systems is performed using Khinchin's entropy. It is shown that entropy analyses using Khinchin's entropy are valid for continuous systems that can be decomposed into a finite number of modes. The results are shown to be analogous to those obtained for simple oscillators, which demonstrates the applicability of entropy-based approaches to real-world systems. Three systems are considered to demonstrate these findings: 1) a rod end-coupled to a simple oscillator, 2) two end-coupled rods, and 3) two end-coupled beams.
