Abstract
The basis of this functional pattern is the combination of work, leisure, and education. Not only is industry now returning personnel to school periodically, but industry itself has become educational: problem oriented for both discovery of knowledge and innovation for application of knowledge. To accomplish this functional groups are formed on the basis of the task force - a short term gathering of professionals who work together for the execution of a specific mission and are then disbanded. With more and more production accomplishable by automatic methods the continuous life learning orientation of the professional will become common.
