Abstract
The objective of this research is to improve the resilience of supply networks, more specifically multi-echelon assembly supply chain (MEASC) networks, against large-scale, disruptive events. A MEASC network is a distributed manufacturing process involving a set of suppliers, each of which assembles (or produces) a component from a series of sub-components. The assembled component is then sent to other suppliers in the network for use as a sub-component in their assembly processes and this continues until the final product is assembled.
